What could investors expect from the airline industry in 2018? Frank Holmes says profits should continue to soar with North American carriers projecting earnings of $16.4 billion, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Airline profits are strongly correlated to the rising global gross domestic product (GDP), which leads to increased passenger traffic and revenue.
