Today, we are reviewing another name from the SIA International ADR Index Report, Prudential PLC ADR (PUK), which has recently rallied into the favored zone of this star-studded list. In the first attachment, this notable move up is captured by the SIA platform as it ranked higher through the unfavored zone (red) and has now entered the favored zone at position #62. Shares of PUK have gained attention due to their 1-month performance of +19.72% and year-to-date performance of +37.52%, far outpacing any benchmark return. The attached weekly candlestick chart highlights the explosive move PUK shares have had since the beginning of 2025, benefitting from the favorable SIA sector of insurance, which is coded as green in the attachment. Additionally, we see a positive technical reading from the SIA platform in the form of an SMAX score, a near-term measure of relative strength against a basket of other asset classes, in addition to those within the SIA International ADR Index Report. Support lines are placed just below $18 and $14, while resistance may be visible just above current levels and just below the $30 handle.
The attached point-and-figure (PNF) chart shows price movements dating back to 2020, where shares slid from a high of $40 to as low as $14. However, this downtrend on the PNF chart has now been broken with recent price action around $20, forming a positive trend line for the first time in several years. Shares have made their initial move off the bottom, producing several PNF buy signals, the latest being a powerful spread triple top. On this PNF chart, we find more precise support levels from the triple top at $18.93, while the 3-box reversal may materialize as support at $20.09. Resistance, on the other hand, may be visible at $23.54 and $25.99, which are levels from 2023 and 2022. Prudential plc is a British-domiciled multinational insurance and asset management company headquartered in London and Hong Kong.
