Interesting Charts
Technical deterioration by the TSX Composite Index continues.
The Index fell below its 20 day moving average, its momentum
indicators continue to trend down and strength relative to the
S&P 500 Index continues to deteriorate.
Strength in the U.S. Dollar Index following Yellen’s statement
before the Senate Banking Committee had a direct negative
impact on precious metal prices and related equities.
Activity in Individual Equities
Yesterday
Lots of technical action by S&P 500 stocks on the upside
and downside yesterday despite a small change by the Index at
the end of the day! Eight S&P 500 stocks broke resistance
(BLK, JPM, KIM, MCO, MA, AP, KMB, CAH, SPG and UPS) and ten
stocks broke support (LEN, M, WFM, FLTR, MUR, MSI, LEG, COH, LO
and RAI). Breaks above resistance were dominated by Financials.
Among TSX 60 stocks, Loblaw broke resistance.
