Cemex Breaks Higher: Why This Global Cement Giant Is Back in Focus

by SIACharts.com

Cemex has continued to improve its standing within the SIA International ADR Index Report, advancing 46 positions over the past month to 32nd out of 256 securities while remaining in the Favored Green Zone. The shares currently carry a strong SIA SMAX score of 9/10 and recently generated a bullish Double Top point and figure signal, supporting the stock’s ongoing improvement in relative strength characteristics. Although the broader Construction sector remains in the Neutral Yellow Zone of the SIA Sector Report at 10th out of 31 groups, Cemex has continued to outperform much of its sector peer group from a relative strength perspective.

The stock has also notably outpaced broader international equities over multiple timeframes. Cemex has returned 11.44% over the past month, 5.63% over the quarter, and 96.15% over the past year, compared to gains of 3.67%, 3.00%, and 32.72% respectively for the iShares MSCI ACWI ex US Index ETF. The sustained outperformance versus the benchmark continues to reinforce the stock’s improving trend profile.

From a technical standpoint, near-term support is identified at the 3-box reversal level of $10.92, with additional longer-term support extending back toward $8.56. On the upside, point and figure vertical count methodologies project potential resistance levels near $19.62, $33.55, and $40.78. Those longer-dated resistance counts continue to illustrate the magnitude of the stock’s current recovery phase.

Cemex is a global building materials company headquartered in Mexico that produces and distributes cement, ready-mix concrete, aggregates, and related construction products across residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure markets worldwide. The company has also continued to focus on sustainable construction initiatives, digital innovation, and carbon reduction efforts within the cement industry.
