AGF Management Limited is mourning the unexpected passing of Kevin McCreadie, its Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer, who played a transformative role in shaping the firmâs trajectory over the past decade.
McCreadie, who joined AGF in 2014, was instrumental in guiding the asset manager through a period of strategic growth and evolution. Known for his deep commitment to investment excellence, talent development, and inclusive leadership, his impact reached well beyond the corner office.
âThe entire AGF team is devastated by the loss of Kevin, our colleague and leader,â said Blake Goldring, Executive Chairman of AGF. âHis impact on our organization â and the people within it â has been profound and will be lasting. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the McCreadie family during this difficult time.â
McCreadieâs legacy at AGF includes his relentless focus on building a strong investment culture, mentoring the next generation of leaders, and championing financial literacy and diversity initiatives. His leadership left a lasting imprint not only on the firmâs strategic direction but also on the individuals who worked alongside him.
In response to the news, AGFâs Board of Directors has activated its succession plan, appointing Judy Goldring LL.B, LL.DâPresident and Head of Global Distributionâas the new CEO, effective immediately.
Goldring, a respected figure in the asset management industry with over three decades of experience, has been with AGF since 1998. She began her tenure as General Counsel and steadily took on roles of increasing responsibility, including Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer before being named President.
In her most recent position, she was responsible for executing strategic plans aligned with the firmâs priorities and served as a close advisor to McCreadie. She also sits on the Board of Directors of AGF Management Limited and AGF Mutual Funds, and serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for SIMA (formerly IFIC).
âWe have full confidence in Judyâs ability to lead the firm given her profile, vision and demonstrated leadership skills,â said Goldring. âShe has the full support of the AGF team and our Board of Directors.â
Judy Goldring will work in close partnership with AGFâs Office of the CIOâan investment leadership structure established by McCreadieâto maintain cultural continuity and a steady focus on delivering investment performance.
âUnder Kevinâs visionary leadership, AGFâs culture is strong and the firm is strategically well-positioned for sustained growth,â added Blake Goldring. âThe Board has every confidence in the AGF team's ability to continue driving long-term success for the benefit of all stakeholders.â
