How Come We Have To Sometimes Be At Our Worst?
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009
I suppose Sci-Fi allowed me to find a safe space allowing me to disassociate from my perception of my childhood which was like hell on earth.
Today I’m still a Sci-Fi fan and Laura and I recently saw the latest version of The Day The Earth Stood Still.
There is a scene where Helen Benson played by Jennifer Connolly is pleading with the space man Klaatu played by Keanu Reaves not to allow Gort, the robot to destroy the earth for our sins against the environment. Klaatu’s words still ring through me; “If the earth dies, you die. If you die, the earth lives”.

Englishman River Falls Provincial Park
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009
One of the many blessings of living on Vancouver Island is Laura and I are minutes away from the majesty of nature.
Sunday on the footbridge over the Englishman River Falls … you can see our shadows half way up the right hand side of the picture.
Monday - Friday are business building project days and Tuesday and Thursday mornings are invested in coaching.

A Teensy Weensy Screen & Plan = A Teensy Weensy Result
Wednesday, January 28th, 2009
Wednesday is Buffer Day to work on big picture thinking and that means marketing financial advisor public speaking to large life insurance and mga firms and writing a white paper to market a live financial advisor coaching workshop that we will deliver later in the year.
Laura and I met with a group of our friends on Sunday to finalize our dates for a sailing holiday to the British Virgin Islands in January/February of 2010.

Advocis Bay Of Quinte Financial Advisor Speaker Testimonial
Monday, January 26th, 2009
We are creating excellent results for 2009 which are the result of having a big vision from 35,000 feet and that means getting on 17 flights and flying 26,200km to do it, speaking in Belleville, Calgary, Edmonton, London, Toronto and Winnipeg … taking a few extended detours due to fog.
The view from my window seat heading into Vancouver from Nanaimo on January 19th. Vancouver International is down there somewhere.
All worth it as confirmed by this incredible testimonial.

Financial Advisor Coaching – Blogettes
Monday, January 26th, 2009
I’m back on Vancouver Island from my trip to Edmonton & Winnipeg. I landed last night at 7pm and that was the 2nd plane to land in Comox in the last four days due to fog. I’m home now until March!!
Here are few blogs / observations from this week.
Vision
They say faith with action is dead. Business without a written and business plan is dead.
Credit Comes From Within
Credit exists because of what one believes.
The word credit comes from the Latin word credo. Credo means I believe or I believe that if I lend you money that you will pay me back.

The Biggest Demonstration Of The Effects Of The Unmet Needs Disease
Monday, January 26th, 2009
In Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead I suggested focusing on the values of renewal for it does us no good to blame and judge the failed policies of the past … perhaps the values of empathy and understanding will allow us to forgive so that we can go forward on a positive course and state of mind.
These thoughts are compounded by two Globe And Mail articles; Hey Dubya – buh-bye and Stop infecting me with your crappy mood.
John Bradshaw said that the unmet need of worthiness is the granddaddy of them all and this unmet need generates limiting beliefs of “I am not good enough” and limiting emotions of emptiness and sadness.

Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead!
Monday, January 26th, 2009
Its 11am Monday morning and I am still in Nanaimo and my 9:30am flight to Vancouver is delayed due to fog and I will not make my 11am flight from Vancouver to Edmonton. Not because of the fog in Nanaimo but because the fog is bad in Vancouver, the planes can’t land. At 11:15am I will ask for my bags and get a taxi and catch a BC Ferry from Nanaimo to Tswwassen and then catch a cab to the Vancouver airport and one way or another I’ll catch a flight to Edmonton.

Box Of Chocolates
Monday, January 26th, 2009
It’s 1:40pm MT on Thursday and I am flying via Air Canada from Calgary to Kingston via Toronto arriving at 8:45pm ET where a car and driver will pick me up for the one hour drive to Trenton and I will arrive in my hotel at about 10pm ET.
I completed a 10am financial advisor speaking presentation ( Thursday ) for Pro-Seminars and received enquiries about coaching and members of the financial advisor speaking audience purchased 10 copies of my book.
Financial advisor public speaking is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.

GPS – Goal Prioritize Schedule Eliminates The TOrnaDO Of The Mind.
Monday, January 26th, 2009
“If this fog gets any thicker we will have to turn on the GPS” I exclaimed to Laura at 5:55pm PT on Wednesday evening as we were traveling to Comox, BC for me to catch a 7pm flight to Calgary. “Hey, this doesn’t look familiar, I’ve never seen that exit before” said Laura as we both realized that we had missed the exit to Comox as we were lost in conversation and fog. We were on our way to Campbell River and had to make up some time and the 10km by missing the exit, luckily the flight arrive late.

A Strong Start For This Week
Monday, January 26th, 2009
This week is a go and I’m feeling great because the last thing that I did on Friday afternoon was empty my head into excel of all last weeks incomplete; excel and word docs, e-mails, files, ideas, journal, maximizer to does, notes and projects … it is important to invest time in the office given that I was traveling from Sunday, January 4th through to late on Wednesday, January 7th.
We are walking our talk with the above by following Finishing The Year With An Empty Head and A Strong Start To 2009.
